The legs are an important part of a woman’s self-image. If she’s been hampered with big thighs either just from bad genetic luck or weight gain, this can keep a woman from wearing shorts or going to the beach. But a thigh lift with Dr. Ip can give you the thighs you’ve always wanted.
Dr. Ip often recommends a thigh lift in combination with other body lift procedures so that everything stays proportional. A thigh lift effectively changes the shape of the thighs, making them proportional to the rest of the body, firmer, and more contoured.
Who should get a thigh lift?
The thighs can be stubborn, not responding to changes in diet and exercise. You may be working your butt off, figuratively or maybe literally, but you can’t seem to get rid of that excess skin and tissue on your inner and outer thighs. If you are at a stable weight, within 10% of your ideal body weight, a thigh lift could be a good option to give you the thighs you’ve always wanted.
The procedure
Dr. Ip makes thigh lift incisions usually in the groin region or outer hip, depending on what needs to be done. He then tightens underlying tissue and muscle, and trims excess skin.
- A medial thigh lift requires only a small incision in the groin and may extend downwards toward the pubic area. A medial lift is ideal for tightening the inner thigh.
- A lateral lift uses an incision that spans the area from the uppermost portion of the leg, extending out to the patient’s hips. This targets the outer thigh.
Results
Following your surgery, your thighs will show a new contour, but they will also be bruised and swollen. You’ll wear compression garments to help the skin and muscle conform to its new contour. In a few weeks, all of this will pass and your new thighs will be ready for all to see.
